Sarah Evans, SEVANS Strategy
A public relations and new media consultant, Sarah works with many non profit, social good and technology companies. But it’s her personal mission-to engage and employ the use of emerging technologies in all communication-that connects her with a rapidly growing base of more than 40,000 people.
A self-described “social media freak,” Sarah initiated and moderates #journchat, the weekly live chat between PR professionals, journalists and bloggers on the microblogging platform, Twitter. She is a guest writer for Mashable, one of the most popular social media blogs in the world runs her own blog at PRsarahevans.com and shares a daily resource for PR professionals called Commentz.
She most recently worked with a local crisis center to raise more than $161,000 in three weeks and with comedian Michael Ian Black to raise $3,000 in 24 hours with the help of social media. Not to mention she is a team member of the Guinness Book World Record holding #beatcancer team. MJ Tam started blogging in 1999 and has since been very active in the Social Media world. She is the Editor of Chicagonista and the Creator of City Connect Media, Inc. that owns and operates Chicagonista.com,NYMetropolista.com and hoping to launch more city sites on her list: San Franista, SoCalista, and Miaminista. MJ also expanded Chicagonista by making room for the successful-minded 20 something NextGen Chicagonista and recently partnered with Nancy Loo and created Young Chicagonista that is giving voice to young girls from 11-17 years old. Nancy Loo is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist with over 20 years of experience as an Anchor and Reporter.
